I promise to post some more substantial reflections regarding my recent trip to Germany; however, before I do, I thought I would get you up to speed on how I spent my free time. Much like the great David Hasselhoff, I cultivated my own European persona while I was in Germany.

Yes, Michael is indeed the king of pop-schlagers (country pop)! I also hear that his performances come mit grosse after-show party!
It was hard for him to beat back the adoring fans in Leipzig but I think the fact that the Dali Llama was also in Leipzig the week we were there helped as most people were conflicted about who to go and see. Dali Llama for fufillment of spiritual needs or Michael Wend(l)er for fufillment of country-pop needs.
Our trip coincided with the G-8 conference in Leipzig and the visit from the Dali Llama. It seems that many important things converged in Leipzig last week. I don’t know how many people turned out to see the Dali Llama or to protest the G-8 but I do know that last night 13 to 14 people met in Cafe Til to continue the discussions and community that was started on May 5th. Wow!
PS- I hear that there is a Karaoke event this Sat at Paul’s Oasis. I really hope Mr. Wend(l)er and his frauline will make an appearance to dazzel us with some real pop-schlagers! Yeehaw!
