A single word can hold great meaning.
I went to Dollywood a couple weeks ago with my parents and niece and nephew. We started the day off with going to chapel since it was Sunday. During part of the sermon the pastor asked for prayer requests and my nephew Aaron asked for one but couldn’t be heard by the pastor. He asked for Dad to speak up which was me and of course I am not his Dad. I didn’t think of it at the time but we were acting as a close family even though we weren’t immediate family.
Dad is a special word. I have a father and a step-father and they are both completely different. They both love me tremendously and have shown me so much. I have always wondered if one day I could be a good father to my kids. As I grow in the Lord I see his influence in my life more than I acknowledge. He has shown me things I never would have seen and given me courage to do many things.
Some days when I am extremely tired I take nap on the couch. I put in a movie and start watching it and the fall asleep after 30 minutes. During that time of sleep, I hear the movie in the distance and see the movie in my dreams with a cloud frame. The dream is so clear and vivid. It’s like I was awake. There are some dreams that seem so real I have to remind myself I am sleeping.
Dreams are such fascinating things. Men and women have died for dreams. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream of equality among the different races and that dream is still being fought over. There are many dreams of men and women that have helped shape our world. Am I following my dream? I question that a lot. Dreams help to drive us in this world.
A word has a different meaning for each of us. These are some of mine.
